Are you concerned about the fishing in Delaware?
A group of concerned anglers wants you to get involved with the Delaware Fisherman’s Alliance (DFA). This organization is seeking to develop a strong membership presence to address fisheries issues on the local level in Delaware.
The mission of the DFA is to protect, conserve and advocate for fisheries resources in Delaware for all anglers: recreational, commercial, salt water and freshwater.
How will this be done?
This mission is to be accomplished through an aggressive grass roots education campaign and through directly lobbying on behalf of fisherman and the resource in the fisheries management and political process.
Strength in Numbers
The DFA will seek to work with established groups such as the Delaware Mobile Surf Fishermen, the Saltwater Fly Anglers of Delaware, the Indian River Charter Captains Association, and numerous others to form a united front in advocating for access to, and conservation of, fisheries resources. Put simply, our strength will lie in our numbers. The DFA will proactively seek affiliation with all Delaware fishing groups and organizations to accomplish our common goals.
An organizational meeting will be held on Monday, April 27, 2009 at the Center for the Inland Bays located on the north side of the Indian River Inlet next to the Coast Guard Station. The meeting will begin at 6:30 p.m.
